CareGivers Need Help Too !

The Daily Challenges of Dealing with Behavior Problems of Someone Afflicted with Alzheimers Disease is not Easy.  But Help is Available.

Adaptive jumpsuits offer a solution for the Alzheimer patient who is spontaneously undressing.

Welcome!!
In the United States there are more than 5 million seniors who have been diagnosed with Alzhiemer disease. Of them, approximately 70% are cared for at home by their family members. While scientists work to uncover the cause and cure for AD in the laboratory, family caregivers and healthcare workers are fighting the battle with patience, compassion and lots of creativity!

Alzheimer's disease is a degenerative brain disease that affects each patient differently, but most patients go through stages of memory loss and cognitive decline as the disease progresses. In the early stages, a person with AD may exhibit signs of frustration, anger and disorientation as they realize that they have difficulty remembering and doing what used to be simple tasks. Some of our customers have used soft music and soothing videos to calm and entertain. (Both the patient and caregiver!)

In the advanced stages of the disease many patients will exhibit personality and behavior changes that may also impair their judgement. Sometimes this behavior is inappropriate in a public setting, such as the compulsion to undress. While its not completely understood why some Alzheimer patients are compelled to strip, it does create a real challenge to nursing staff and family caregivers to keep the patient properly clothed.

One of the best solutions we've found is the back opening jumpsuit. These garments look like a standard jumpsuit but only open down the back making it difficult for the patient to strip. There are several types available in a range of materials and styles for both men and women.
Hopefully our adaptive clothing products will make your life easier and more comfortable for the Alzheimer patient.
